The government may soon introduce a rental housing scheme for construction workers, laborers, and migrant workers.

Under the affordable housing scheme, houses will be rented for one to three thousand rupees per month

- Housing will be provided to construction workers, laborers and others working in the unorganized sector.

- Students will also be taken home to live at a lower rate under this scheme.

According to the report, no final decision has been taken by the ministry on the eligibility of these categories.

Approval of the Ministry of Housing has been obtained by preparing a cabinet note for the rental housing scheme.

- The proposal will be sent to the Cabinet for final approval.

- Companies under this scheme will be given incentives for rental housing projects on their land.

- Rental housing projects will be built on the PPP model under the Alusher rental housing scheme of media reports.

Projects will also be created under viability gap funding.

Money for this can be provided under the Prime Minister's Urban Housing Scheme.

In the first phase, it is proposed to build about 75000 units in different cities.
