Amma Two Wheeler Scheme: Download Application Forms, Details




To empower working women, the Tamil Nadu government has introduced the "Amma Two Wheeler Scheme" to enable women to purchase two-wheelers at affordable prices. The scheme helps facilitate the travel of working women. Since the main motto of the scheme is ease of use, only gearless or auto tow-gear vehicles are included in the scheme. This article gives an understanding of how the Amma Two Wheeler Scheme online application form can be downloaded, the benefits of the schemes, eligibility and the application process.




Amma two-wheeler or scooter plan:

The scheme was launched in February 2018 for the development of working women, especially the poorer sections of the society. Under the scheme, eligible applicants can avail a discount of up to Rs 25,000 on a two-wheeler purchase up to a maximum of 50% or whichever is less. Also, the convenience of a three-wheeled retrofitted two-wheeler can be availed by diverse-capable women. Applicants will have to bear the remaining cost of the vehicle either through a bank loan or through their own funds.

Benefits of Amma Two Wheeler Scheme:

Through this initiative the Government of Tamil Nadu seeks to empower working women, especially from the deprived sections of the society. The following are the benefits of the Amma Two Wheeler scheme:
  •     1 lakh women will benefit every year.
  •     50% of the cost of the scooter or whatever, a subsidy of 25,000. (Free funds from the government for the purchase of Amma scooters)
  •     Applicable in all rural and urban areas of Tamil Nadu.
  •     The subsidy should be deposited directly in the bank account of the beneficiaries.
  •     Differently capable women can get a retro fit three-wheeler scooter.
  •     The bank can get a loan for the remaining amount or pay through its own funds.

Eligible Beneficiaries under Amma Two-Wheeler Scheme:

In addition to the eligibility criteria, there are beneficiaries who have been listed by the Tamil Nadu government for the Amma Two-Wheeler scheme. The details are as follows.

    Women who are actively engaged individually or collectively as a group for livelihood wage or activity employment.

    Women who travel long distances.
    Their earnings are the primary source of family income.
    Women who are registered as workers in the organized and unorganized sectors.
    Women work in establishments and shops.
    Self-employed women engaged in small businesses.

    Women on contract employment in government aided organizations, private organizations, government projects or community based organizations on daily wages, women on consolidated salaries:

        Panchayat level union
        Mavtta Makkal Katral Maiyam
        Village Poverty Alleviation Committees.
     Hope workers and banking correspondents / banking facilities.
    Priority will be given to working women:
        Living in remote areas or hilly regions
        Desolate
        Rules
        Widows
        Differently enabled
        Unmarried over 35 years
        Transgender
        SC / ST
        Heads of household

How to apply and download Amma Scooter Plan Form:

The Amma Two-Wheeler Scheme is also popularly known as the "Amma Scooty Scheme" or the "Prime Minister's Amma Scooter Scheme". Below is the process of filling up the Amma Scooter Plan application form and how to download the Amma Two-Wheeler Plan application form:

    Step 1: You can download the application form from the form facial website (http://www.tamilnadumahalir.org/) or you can collect it free of cost at all block ices fees, urban local body ices fees and collector offices.

    Step 2: Fill in the application form and submit the relevant block ices fees or urban local body ices fees in person or you can post it by speed or registered post. Each of these offices will have a dedicated counter for accepting applications on all working days from 10 am to 5 pm.

    Step 3: A unique application number will be provided and an acknowledgment receipt will be filled out and signed. Make sure you get an acknowledgment receipt.

Step 2: Fill the name of the district, block, village panchayat that you belong, your personal details such as name, father’s or husband’s name, sex (women/transgender), your permanent residential address, and other personal details.

Step 3: Enter other details such as the type of scooter you are planning to buy and its costs, also mention if you are buying the vehicle through your own funds or through a loan from a bank or financial institution. Enclose the invoice quotation of the vehicle and the details of the bank through which you may plan to take a loan. Also, enter your bank savings account details.

Step 4: Now, enter the details of the documents that are being enclosed along with the application form.

Step 5: Enter the date, place and sign the application form.

Follow these steps when filling out an urban application form:

Step 1: Paste your passport size photograph in the designated area of ​​the application form.

Step 2: You enter the name of the district, corporation or municipality or town panchayat, ward, and your personal details such as your name, father's or husband's name, address, date of birth, educational qualification, etc.

Step :: Your DL Or LL, the type of two-wheeler you are going to buy, the vehicle invoice is the quotation, the bank details if you are taking a bank loan for the remaining amount, your bank account details and other details.

Step 4: Enter 'Yes' for all supporting documents like Aadhaar number, DL / LL, Community Certificate, Proof Education.

Step 5: Enter the date, sign and sign the application form.
Subsidy Claim Form:

Upon completion of the certificate of registration and physical verification of the vehicle purchase, the subsidy will be issued by the Amma two-wheeler scheme and credited to your loan or bank account.

The steps for filling up a subsidy claim form are as follows:


Step 1: Enter the application number, your personal details such as name, address, father's or husband's name, vehicle product type and date etc.

Step 2: Enter the vehicle registration number, date of registration, your DL details and if you bought the vehicle through a bank loan or through your own funds. If purchased through a bank loan, you will need to specify the loan account details.

Step 3: Enter your bank details such as account number, account type, name and branch, IFSC code and then enter the on-road value of the vehicle and the subsidy amount.

Step :: Sign the subsidy claim form and make sure you get the signature of the bank manager or finance company along with the seal or stamp.
Field verification form:

Along with the application form, you need to submit copies of the following documents:

    Proof of age (date of birth)
    Proof of Residence (EPIC Card / DL / Aadhar Card / Utility Bill in the name of the applicant)
    Driving license or learner's license registration (LLR) issued by the competent authority.
    Must be a certificate of income or self-certified issued by the employer.
    Proof of employment provided by the employer/organization/project head/society in case of salaried or salaried employment

    Proof of educational qualification or appearance of 8th standard examination (SSLC, transfer certificate, etc.).

Features of Amma Scooter:

Under the scheme, you can choose any new gearless or auto toe-gear vehicle keeping in mind the following specifications:

    Engine capacity: not more than 125 cc
    Reported: Under the Motor Vehicle Act of 1988
    Date of production: It should be produced on or after January 1, 2018.
    Emissions: The latest guidelines should be followed.
    Differently-Alded: Retro-Fit Three-Wheeler Scooter.

The Project Director of the Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihood Mission (TNSRLM) of the concerned district will collect the details of the vehicle provided by you. These details will be shared with the state Department of Transportation. This is done so that the change in ownership registration due to the sale of the vehicle does not take place for a period of three years without the prior approval of the Project Director of TMSRLM.
