He said the farmer is eligible for compensation of a maximum of four hectares of land. He paid a maximum of Rs. 20,000 will be compensated. He said a farmer would get a maximum of Rs 25,000 per hectare for more than 60 per cent crop loss. Rupani clarified that in addition to the compensation paid under the scheme, people have also been involved in crop damage due to natural calamities.

According to Rupani, apart from the crop insurance scheme, the central government does not have to pay any premium under the new khairi scheme to protect it from natural hazards like drought, excess or current rains during the kharif season.
